WHAT IS F-CLASS?

F-Class is a long-range rifle discipline designed around precision shooting from the prone position. At GTGC, competitors engage targets at 600 yards while using electronic target systems that display shot placement and score within seconds.

ON THE FIRING LINE

HOW AN F-CLASS MATCH WORKS

F-Class is fired from the prone position at 600 yards. Competitors fire in relays, allowing shooters to compete, score and assist with range operations throughout the match.

GET SET

Competitors prepare their rifle, equipment and shooting position on the firing line.

FIRE YOUR RELAY

Shooters fire their string of record shots from the prone position at 600 yards.

SEE EVERY SHOT

Electronic targets display shot placement and score, allowing competitors to make adjustments as conditions change.

CHANGE RELAYS

Competitors rotate through their assigned relay duties until all stages of the match are complete.

CHOOSE YOUR DIVISION

F-OPEN vs. F-T/R

F-Class competition is divided into two primary categories. Both are fired from the prone position, but each has different equipment requirements.

F-OPEN

F-Open gives competitors greater flexibility in rifle, caliber and support equipment.

✓ CALIBER
Rifles may be chambered in any caliber up to .35 caliber.

✓ RIFLE SUPPORT
A front rest and rear sandbag may be used.

✓ COMPETITION STYLE
Designed for shooters seeking maximum precision with specialized long-range equipment.

F-T/R

F-T/R follows more specific rifle and equipment requirements while maintaining the same precision challenge.

✓ CALIBER
Rifles are chambered in .223 Remington or .308 Winchester.

✓ RIFLE SUPPORT
A bipod and rear sandbag may be used.

✓ COMPETITION STYLE
A popular choice for competitors using tactical or traditional precision-rifle setups.

Don't worry about knowing everything before your first match. Our competitors are happy to help new shooters understand the equipment, procedures and course of fire.

F-CLASS AT GTGC

GTGC's 600-yard range provides competitors with an excellent opportunity to develop their long-range skills and experience the challenge of precision rifle competition.

Electronic targets allow competitors to see shot placement and score from the firing line.

FIRST F-CLASS MATCH?

Arrive with enough time to prepare your equipment and check in. New competitors are encouraged to ask questions and let the Match Director know that it is their first F-Class match.

BEFORE YOU COMPETE

MATCH INFORMATION

A few important details will help you arrive prepared and ready for the firing line.

20 SHOTS FOR RECORD

Each relay consists of 20 shots for record with unlimited sighters in most cases.

⏱️

25 MINUTES

Competitors have a 25-minute time limit to complete their 20 shots for record.

RELAY FORMAT

Shooters rotate through relays and assist with scoring while other competitors are firing.

IMPORTANT MATCH REQUIREMENT

All rifles in all classes are loaded and fired one round at a time. Loaded magazines are not allowed.

F-OPEN Maximum rifle weight: 22 lbs.

F-T/R Maximum rifle weight: 18 lbs.
